The nucleus for Hartselle Medical Center was a clinic established in 1948 for the purpose of providing local medical facilities for patients.
Five years later, the main wing of the hospital was extended and a new wing added. The 1953 expansion provided two extra patient rooms and facilities for another Doctor.
In 1955, the hospital had three staff physicians, three administrative employees and ten people on the nursing staff.
Orval Sparkman bought the hospital in 1962 and continued expanding the hospital.
A $2.5 million expansion program began in 1967. A three-story addition and doctors’ clinic was constructed. The number of beds tripled.
Today, Hartselle Medical Center remains committed to providing the highest quality of health care possible to the residents of Hartselle and our service area. We are also committed to be aware of the needs and concerns of the community and look forward to being an integral part of the continued growth and development of this area.
